Lyricist Nellai Barathi passed away in Chennai on Friday. He was battling chronic issues for a year. Tamil industry mourned his death and among them was Vijay Sethupathi. The actor, who will soon be seen in 'Master', paid his respects to Barathi along with other Kollywood celebrities.
Nellai's mortal remains were kept in his house in Chennai's Porur. His family members, relatives and friends, including Vijay Sethupathi, paid their last respects there. More so, Sethupathi consoled Barathi's family and provided them financial aid.
The actor went to pay his last respects despite the 21-day lockdown to fight coronavirus, which was highly-appreciated by fans. The Tamil Nadu government issued advisory on how many members can attend a funeral during the lockdown and the same was followed.
Vijay Sethupathi, known as Makkal Selvan, plays the antagonist in Thalapathy Vijay starring film 'Master'. The movie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, was slated to release in the second week of April but will have to be postponed due to the lockdown.
