Jaya Bachchan celebrates her 72nd birthday today. Fans poured in their wishes and the actress-turned-politician sent them her regards via husband Amitabh Bachchan. The megastar took to Twitter and thanked Jaya's fans on her behalf while she was stuck in Delhi during coronavirus lockdown.

"T 3496 - To them that have wished Jaya on her birthday today, my gratitude and love .. thank you for remembering her .. it will be impossible to respond to each of you individually , hence this .. love .. (thank you and grateful) she has been given your wishes and she sends her thanks," tweeted Amitabh.

Meanwhile Abhishek Bachchan revealed that everybody thinks about Jaya in Mumbai, also spilling that she is stuck in Delhi due to coronavirus lockdown while they are in Mumbai. "As every child will tell you, their favourite word is... MA! Happy Birthday, Ma. Although you are away in Delhi due to the lockdown and we all are here in Mumbai, know that we are thinking of you and carry you in our hearts. I love you!," wrote junior Bachchan while wishing her happy birthday.

On the other hand, Shweta Bachchan Nanda shared a throwback picture of her and Abhishek's baby self around Jaya Bachchan. Taking the help of e e cummings' poem I Carry Your Heart With Me. she wrote, "I carry your heart with me (I carry it in my heart) I am never without it (anywhere I go you go...) - Happy birthday, Mama; I love you (with a little help from e e cummings)."
