Rakesh Roshan's 'Khubsoorat' co-star Ranjit Chowdhry passes awayAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Ranjit Chowdhry, also known as Chottu, has passed away at the age of 65. The reason for his death is touted to be a prolonged illness for which he underwent a surgery. His half-sister Raell Padamsee confirmed the news with an Instagram post.
Sharing the news of his sad demise, Raell shared an image of Ranjit and wrote, "For all those who knew Ranjit, the funeral will be held tomorrow and a gathering to celebrate his life n share his stories on May 5th. With love, Raell."
Ranjit was best known to play Rakesh Roshan's brother in 'Khubsoorat'. The movie also starred Rekha in the lead role. Apart from 'Khubsoorat', the actor appeared in Basu Chatterjee's 'Baton Baton Mein' and 'Khatta Meetha' as the memorable Russie Mistry, among other Bollywood films. He also featured in the American TV series 'Prison Break'.
Believed to have moved to US in 1980 and continued his life as a writer and actor, Chowdhry was the son of Mumbai theatre artist Pearl Padamsee and step-son to Alyque Padamsee. Actor Rahul Khanna and director Deepa Mehta also mourned the loss.
