The Brickhouse Theater presents: SUPER SESSION! Fourteen hours of Non-Stop, Live, Improvised Music! Featuring: Stu Hamm on bass, Jerry Marotta on drums, Willie Oteri on guitar and a host of other artists! Brickhouse Theater - 1 E. Jackson, Phoenix, AZ - October 13, 2007 - starts at 12pm
September 20, 2007
"Super Sessions" comes to America! This event is designed to promote live improvised music in a world becoming blander from homogenized and canned music. Aside from Stu Hamm, Jerry Marotta and Willie Oteri, a host of other artists include Jon Mulvey, Cat MaLean Skinny Bishop, Chris Michalek and many more! This event takes place at the Brickhouse Theater, located at 1 E. Jackson, Phoenix, AZ (602.258.7880). This energized improvisational music begins at high noon and continues for fourteen solid creative hours!
How the Super Sessions differ from participation in normal concert and club events - Although improvisation is often associated with jazz, Super Sessions goes beyond this genre and has tended to more of a rock, progressive or jazz/rock fusion vain with moments of world music, classical, folk and anything you can imagine!
If you wish to be a part of this improvised-music-making event, go to www.supersessions.org. More sponsors are needed!! Contact Willie Oteri at [email protected] if you would like to contribute to the awareness of live improvised music. To purchase tickets for Super Sessions, contact Willie at [email protected]. The cost is $15.00 for advanced tickets; $20.00 at the door.
This unique concert has a second goal of raising awareness and money for non-profit education! The Phoenix Conservatory of Music is proud and humbled to be the recipient of the net proceeds of the event. PCM is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit, 100% outreach organization whose mission is to unleash the power of music in children and families by providing a platform for creativity and expression, and preserving music as an essential building block to a person's development. All net proceeds will go to assist with PCM's after school music programs for at risk youth!
That's not all! Through the Event, PCM will also raffle two (2) guitars (a Peavey Briarwood Acoustic, donated by Peavey and a Fender f310-12/12-string, donated by Willie Oteri, each valued at $200.00). The cost per raffle ticket is $15.00 in advance, $10.00 at the event. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the event or by mailing your name, address, phone number and e-mail address along with cash or check to PCM, P O box 1163, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. All entries must be received by October 12, 2007. You don't have to be present to win!
