Shiv Sena mocks 'Mahatma' Sonu Sood for helping migrant workers, says he's controlled by BJPAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Sanjay Raut, from Shiv Sena, wrote a column in 'Saamana', mocking actor Sonu Sood for helping migrant workers. The column mentioned Sonu Sood as a 'puppet controlled by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)' to 'attack Shiv Sena and Maharashtra government'.
In the satire, Raut also stated that Sonu Sood would soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and might also 'promote the party'. He further mocked Sood and called him 'Mahatma' who emerged during lockdown period.
"Maharashtra has had a tradition of social work and it has seen great social workers like Mahatma Jyotirao Phule and Baba Amte who are from Maharashtra. Now a new name has emerged in this list and that is Sonu Sood," read the piece.
"Since past few days, a new 'Mahatma' has appeared named Sonu Sood. Since last fortnight or so, Sonu Sood's name has been discussed for sending thousands of migrant workers to their native places in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Delhi and other states. It is being said that he could help those migrant workers when even the state and the Central government couldn't do anything and failed.," states the editorial.
Praising Sonu Sood during a recent interaction, Sanjay Raut said, "Sonu Sood is a good actor. There is a different director for movies, the work he has done is good but there is a possibility that there is a political director behind it."
Sanjay Raut mentioned that Sonu Sood received funds collected from a charitable organization to help the migrant workers. He also questioned how Sonu Sood received buses amidst the lockdown. Raut also mentioned about the Maharashtra governer praising 'Mahatma Sood' for his work. For the uninitiated, Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Sonu Sood met on May 30 at the Raj Bhavan.
