'Never abused Amber Heard or any other woman in my life': Johnny Depp tells UK courtAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's controversial separation has taken a new turn as the trial for the same is ongoing at London High Court. On Tuesday, Deep revealed the court that Amber had struck him and accused her of lying about getting beaten up by her now ex-husband. He shared that he has never hit any woman in his life let alone Amber. Johnny also sued a newspaper for labelling him as 'wife-beater' back in April 2018.
As per Reuters, Depp said in a witness statement, "For the avoidance of any doubt, I have never abused Ms Heard, or, indeed, any other woman, in my life." While Depp's lawyer David Sherborne said, "The Claimant's position is clear; Ms Heard's allegations are complete lies. The Claimant was not violent towards Ms Heard, it was she who was violent to him."
The Pirates of the Caribbean star went on to call himself a victim of attacks from Amber. Narrating one of the incidents, Depp said, "I would try to go to my own corner as it were. It escalated and it got physical ... Miss Heard struck me."
During cross-examination by Sasha Wass, she showed the court a video shot by Amber in which Johnny is seen slamming kitchen cupboard doors and then pouring himself a glass of wine. Depp called it an 'unpleasant' video to watch and said, "I can only say I was upset, very upset."
While actor Ellen Barkin claimed that Depp threw a bottle of wine across a hotel room as he allegedly got jealous and angry. However, the Tourist actor denied the claims and said, "Untrue. I do not have an anger management problem."
He shared in his witness statement that Amber threw a vodka bottle at him and also accused that she or one of her friends also defecated in their bed.
