Neetu Kapoor celebrated her birthday a day before. Ranbir Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Samaira and the Bachchans too, were seen at the party. Netizens happened to also notice filmmaker Karan Johar, who is reportedly depressed over the social media hatred, at the party.

Karan Johar has been a target on social media ever since Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide. The filmmaker is constantly called nepotistic and someone who does not give as much an opportunity to outsiders as he does to starkids.

It was reported that the negativity and hatred has affected him badly. Netizens spotted the filmmaker partying with Ranbir and Neetu on the former actor's birthday, and questioned if the filmmaker was depressed.

Soon after Sushant's demise on June 14, 2020, Kangana Ranaut had made a video calling out Karan Johar and other filmmakers. She stated that they have groupism and bully people to no extent. The actress was also going to be witness in a case against Karan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Salman Khan and five other personalities, that was recently dismissed in Bihar court. The advocate fighting the case, however, has promised to challenge the court's decision.
