Karthi starrer 'Sulthan' full HD version leaked on Tamilrockers and other torrent sitesIn a disheartening piece of news for the makers of Tamil-language film 'Sulthan' featuring Karthi, Rashmika Mandanna, and Napoleon and written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, the movie has become the latest target of privacy as full HD quality version of it has been leaked on sites such as Tamilrockers, Telegram, movierulz, among others.

The leak is a cause of concern for the makers since people can watch it for free and that will automatically affect the box office collection. At a time when the theatres are trying to get back to normal amid the pandemic, this leak is a grave concern.

Earlier, 'Godzilla vs. Kong', the fourth installment to the MonsterVerse created by Legendary Entertainment, which hit theatres on March 24, leaked on the torrent sites on the first day of the film's release.

Meanwhile, 'Sulthan' which released in theatres on April 2 has been garnering a lot of praise after it opened to a thunderous response at the Chennai box office despite the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to trade analyst LM Kaushik, the film grossed Rs 55 lakh on day 1 and made history as the young star's career-best opener.

Earlier, Vijay and Thalapathy Vijay's's 'Master' opened to a phenomenal response at the box office at a time when the theatres were running at a 50 per cent capacity. It became a blockbuster hit.

However, this is not the first time, the piracy website leaked a film or a show. Earlier, films and shows such as Mumbai Saaga, Jathi Ratnalu, Sreekaram, The Priest, Roohi, Bombay Begums, Lahore Confidential, Pudhu Kaalai, Sufiyum Sujatayum, AK vs AK, Laxmii, Ashram 2, Ludo, Chhalaang, Dark, Rasbhari, Bulbbul, Paatal Lok, Aarya, Penguin,The Raikar Case, Hundred, Extraction, Hasmukh, Money Heist, The Lion King, Frozen 2 among others became the target of the piracy sites.
