'Mil gayi fursat IPL se?' Netizens unhappy with Gautam Gambhir's tweet amid COVID-19 scare in DelhiAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
While the whole nation is trying to battle the second wave of COVID-19, the Indian Premier League (IPL) has surely been a glimmer of hope. While the cricket crazy nation enjoys the cash-rich tournament from the comfort of their homes, they are even quick to point out things that don't sit well with them.
And surely one such incident has sparked outrage on Twitter. BJP MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir was trolled heavily after he criticised Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the COVID situation in the national capital.
"No vision, no direction. Delhi is dying. If you have any SHAME, then RESIGN Arvind Kejriwal," wrote Gambhir.
However, netizens were quick to draw comparisons and bring about the irony as the BJP MP was himself busy in a commentary for the ongoing IPL matches. Netizens too pointed out that Gambhir himself is busy with the cricket commentary. Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:
Meanwhile, the crisis of medical oxygen can be witnessed in Uttar Pradesh's Noida as several hospitals have been complaining of oxygen shortage. The situation is the same in Delhi with several hospitals running short of oxygen supply.
Amid growing concerns over the shortage of oxygen supply for coronavirus patients in Delhi, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had highlighted the urgent need for oxygen supply in both government and private hospitals across the city.
Sisodia said he is receiving calls from several hospitals across Delhi regarding the shortage of oxygen and many of them need supplies immediately.
"In many hospitals in Delhi, oxygen is available till only next 8-12 hours. We have been demanding for one week to increase the oxygen supply quota to Delhi, which the Central government has to do. If oxygen does not reach the hospitals in sufficient quantity by tomorrow morning, there will be an outcry," Sisodia said in a tweet.
