England-bound pacer Prasidh Krishna fourth KKR player to test positive for COVID-19Team India and Kolkata Knight riders pacer Prasidh Krishna has tested positive for COVID-19 after he reached his hometown in Bengaluru after the suspension of the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The news comes a day after the pacer was picked in India's squad bound for the UK for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and the five-match Test series against England, as a standby player.

According to reports, Krishna was negative before he left the IPL bio-bubble in Ahemdabad but tested positive after he reached Bengaluru and since then has been placed in isolation. Now like Wriddhiman Saha, Krishna's participation on the tour has become subject to fitness and both of them will have to return negative before May 25 when they join the Team India bubble for a week.

Krishna was the fourth player from the Kolkata Knight Riders camp to test positive for COVID-19 as Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier were the first couple of players in the IPL bio-bubble to test positive and a few days later, on Friday evening New Zealand batsman Tim Seifert has also been tested positive and has isolated himself in Ahmedabad before being transferred to Chennai for his treatment in a private hospital where Chennai super Kings batting coach, Australia's Michael Hussey is getting treated after he also had returned a positive test. br>
Krishna got a maiden call-up to the Indian team in March and he made his debut for his country in the ODIs against England. Although, on a little expensive side, Krishna took six wickets in three games and made his mark as he impressed everyone with his pace and bounce.
