WTC final update: Rain finally stops, super soppers at work; inspection to take place at THIS timeAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
After the gloom of rain for the most part of the day, there was finally some good news as the rains stopped after the end time of the scheduled first session of the World Test Championship (WTC) final which was washed off completely due to excessive rains in Southampton.
The BCCI official handle updated that the rain had stopped and the groundsmen were at work with the super soppers and the inspection was scheduled for 7.30 PM IST.
Even though ICC has provided a reserve day to make up the lost time due to rain, the rain has to stop for the game to start and after so much of it, it will also take time to dry the outfield as all of it would be done using the technology as the sun was nowhere to be seen.
Still, a lot of work has to be done for the game to have an actual start as even the toss didn't take place but rain stopping brought much-needed joy among the fans at the stadium and for thousands at their homes waiting for the summit clash to begin.
