INDIA FESTIVAL 2008 A HUGE SUCCESS
|
India Festival 2008 organized by the Indo- American Cultural and Religious Foundation of Arizona on Saturday, Feb 23, 2008 was a huge success drawing record crowds of over 3000 Indian and American people. Festival attendees took advantage of the wonderful weather and came out in large numbers to the festival to taste the different kinds of authentic food prepared by various non-profit Indian organizations. The festival started with a Vandana to Lord Ganesha and included a full day of entertainment featuring dances, music and Yoga. Children had a great time bouncing in the Moon Jump, having henna done on their hands and simply enjoying the program. Ladies delighted in the jewelry and sarees booths from a Houston vendor, while families took advantage of the desi snacks being sold by a vendor from Los Angeles.
A lot of families also took this opportunity to visit the newly opened beautiful Ekta Mandir across the street. Many Americans were curious to know about Hinduism and Hindu Gods. The event turned out to be a very enjoyable experience for the whole family offering something for everyone. As the pictures show a good time was had by all! |
