ARTISTS

The two Bangalore-based dancers Nirupama & Rajendra are choreographers, producers and performers in their own right, dedicated to dancing excellence for over for 20 years.They head up their own world-renowned dance company Abhinava as Artistic Directors. Uniquely, Nirupama and Rajendra have been trained by legendary figures in the two classical dance styles of Bharatnatyam and Kathak, as well as other styles, and they combine their experiences into dazzling and innovative choreography.

 

Their productions and performances have taken to the stage in international festivals, tours and performances all over the world, and they are also creating a legacy of young dancers in their dance school in Bangalore. They hold A TOP - the highest artist rating’s on Indian national Television.

 

In 2006, they were honored by the Governor of Oklahoma & the Mayor of Tulsa with commendation & recognition certificates for their outstanding contribution to Dance in the USA.

 

Hitting close to the Intel Arizona hearts, Nirupama and Rajendra recently helped in inaugurating Intel’s highly successful 6-core processor launch, Dunnington, at Intel, India Bangalore. Their latest achievement has been connecting Art globally at the BIG HOPE congress Liverpool –UK where they served 700 youth from 55 countries through performances, talks & teaching aspects of Indian dance & its relation to the world.
