New Delhi, Dec 12 (AZINS) Narendra Modi has sent out birthday wishes in Tamil to cinestar Rajinikant, who turned 64 Friday. The prime minister wished the "legendary" artist a long life.
Modi took to Twitter to reach out to the cinema czar on the special day, when his film "Lingaa" also hit the screen.
"On his birthday, I extend greetings to the legendary Rajinikanth ji. May he remain in the best of health and have a long life. @superstarrajini," read the post on the Twitter handle @narendramodi.
A similar message was later posted in Tamil.
Most of Rajinikanth's films have not only had successful innings at the box office, but they have also left indelible impressions on his fans' mind. Be it his 'Mind it' dialogue or his iconic style of using his glares - the 'Thalaivaa' has managed to create trends galore throughout his career.
Giving a treat to his fans, Rajinikanth is out with his film "Lingaa" on his birthday, which has been released after facing plagiarism charges. The movie also stars Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha.
Mumbai, Dec 12 (AZINS) On the ocassion of cinestar Rajinikanth's 64th birthday Friday, his good friend and "Hum" co-star Amitabh Bachchan has wished the "phenomena" good health and happiness.
"And the 12th of December cometh the birthday of the Phenomena Rajnikanth...Happy birthday dear friend and remain in happiness and good health always," Big B posted on his official Facebook page.
Rajinikanth's charisma has turned into a phenomena across the nation with a notion that the star can do the unthinkable and impossible things. He has become a sensation with jokes about his actions doing rounds at every nook and corner of the country.
The "Paa" actor also took to his official blog to wish the star and he even shared a montage of his photographs with Rajinikanth, revered by many as Thalaiva.
While also talking about thespian Dilip Kumar, who turned 92 Thursday, Big B posted: "It is Dilip Kumar's birthday today (Thursday), and tomorrow it shall be the birth of the Southern Star, the phenomena Rajnikanth…my admiration for both these stalwarts, admiration for their contributions through out and the glory of the company they give during our friendly tenure...
"The simplicity of the man Rajni, is phenomenal. It shows great poise and dignity."
Amitabh recently shared the dais with the legendary star at the opening ceremony of the 45th International Film Festival of India in Goa.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth's "Lingaa", which also stars Bollywood's vivacious actress Sonakshi Sinha was engulfed with plagarism charges. However, the Madras High Court bench Thursday allowed the film's release Friday on the condition that its producer Rockline Venkatesh deposit Rs.10 crore in the court.
