India Association will be celebrating the unique folk culture and cuisine of India's vibrant seasons such as Harvest Seasons of Northern and Southern India and how people celebrate and show their gratitude for the new crop; a different and joyous celebration of spring by smearing vibrant colors on one another; unusual celebration of the seeding season from Bihar in North Central India, bollywood representation of wedding season; and many more representations of diverse folk culture of India's Seasons….
Admission is FREE to this all day event. Cultural program will showcase prominent local artists, both solo and group, presenting the unique folk culture of one of India's six colorful seasons. Savor the special seasonal foods of India from all four regions. Dances, music, cooking and cultural demonstrations, children’s games and activities--attend one or all of these exciting events.
Youth activities will showcase sports activities from different seasons, dance workshop showcasing four different seasons, and hands on activities like making book marks and decorating 'diyas' terracota candles.
Shop at the bazaar and thrift store for clothes, jewelry and handicrafts. Make sure you get there in time for the unique Parade showcasing this year's theme. One of the highlights of the Parade is the "Kolata" popular South Indian dance using little sticks.
