'Star Wars' spin-off delayed until 2019Author : AZIndia News Desk
Los Angeles, May 3 (AZINS) The release date of the second "Star Wars" spin-off has been postponed from 2018 to 2019.
The news comes after director Josh Trank left the project citing his desire to "pursue some original creative opportunities,” reports variety.com.
Trank was reportedly fired from "Star Wars" after people at Disney and Lucasfilm heard he was "erratic" and sometimes "very isolated" while filming "The Fantastic Four".
Due to those issues, producers Simon Kinberg and Hutch Parker allegedly had to step in to "pull the film together."
Trank hasn't responded to the rumour, but a spokesman for 21st Century Fox insists the studio is "very happy with the movie and we can't wait for audiences to see it". They, however, acknowledge "there were definitely some bumps in the road".
