Lorde sometimes forgets to eatLos Angeles, June 8 (AZINS) Lorde likes to have her mother around with her because she reminds the singer to eat and do her washing.

The 18-year-old singer is usually accompanied on the road by her mother Sonja and says her presence helps keep her life normal, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I still forget to eat dinner or forget to do my laundry, so she keeps me moving," she told Vogue magazine.

The "Royals" hitmaker admits her life has changed in a "crazy" way since she first found fame but she feels "very lucky" to have so many experiences.

"It's crazy going from living in a country that feels kind of small -- and I'd never travelled, really -- then coming to Los Angeles or New York for the first time, and meeting all these people outside your group of friends from high school.

"The world has expanded for me in this incredible way. It's cool, and I'm very lucky that I get to surround myself with creative people who are clever and good at what they do."
