Singer Lynn Anderson dies at 67Los Angeles, Aug 2 (AZINS) Country music singer Lynn Anderson, best known for her single “(I never promised you a) Rose garden", has died.

Anderson died from cardiac arrest at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennesse on Thursday, reports aceshowbiz.com.

She started her career in the 1960s. Her hit singles included "If I kiss you (will you go away)" and "That's a no-no", but it was "Rose garden" that made her a household name in the industry and earned her a Grammy and Country Music Award in 1971.

In the wake of her death, Martina McBride remembered Anderson in a statement.

“I met Lynn after I did a version of her song 'Rose garden' on my album 'Timeless'. She sent me roses and a sweet note. I was honoured to share the stage with her at the Grand Ole Opry where we sang a version of 'Rose garden' together. I'll never forget it. She was always so gracious and sweet to me," McBride said.

Anderson is survived by her father, country singer Casey Anderson; her partner Mentor Williams; and her children, Lisa Sutton, Melissa Hempel, and Gray Stream.
