Bill Cosby replaces attorney following depositionLos Angeles, Oct 21 (AZINS) Actor-comedian Bill Cosby has bid farewell to his attorney Martin D. Singer.

Court documents revealed that Cosby had hired a new attorney from city-based firm Quinn Emmanuel Urquhart & Sullivan to handle his sex assault lawsuit, reports aceshowbiz.com.

In court papers filed last week, Cosby replaced Singer with Christopher Tayback whose father is the late actor Vic Tayback.

Singer had continuously defended Cosby in legal papers and media when numerous women came up accusing him of sexual assaults.

He even threatened to sue New York Daily News last year after it published a rape allegation made by Sammy Davis Jr.'s ex-girlfriend Katherine "Kathy" McKee.

However, the lawyer's attempt to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Judy Huth failed earlier this month.

Cosby was deposed by attorney Gloria Allred on allegations that he molested her client Huth at the Playboy Mansion when she was 15.

Allred said she would seek a second deposition which could only be revealed to public in December.

However, Singer said on Tuesday he was not fired by the actor and that he was "happy to assist in the transition" to new lawyers.

On the same day, Allred reacted to the changes.

"Mr. Cosby has decided to hire 700 lawyers to fight one woman," she said.

"Mr. Singer has represented Mr. Cosby from the inception of Judy Huth's case until now."

"Only Mr. Cosby and/or his representatives would be able to comment on the reason that Martin Singer is no longer representing Mr. Cosby and why this change has been made. We look forward to continuing our legal battle on behalf of Ms. Huth and this change will not impact our vigorous advocacy on her behalf," she added.
