WhatsApp's latest update lets you "Star" messages to bookmark them for laterAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Nov 6(AZINS) WhatsApp is most likely an essential app on your phone. It's useful for texting, calling your friends, and even sharing images within a group after a party. But sometimes, with the amount that goes on within a little chat window, looking up something again can be a daunting task. The newest update of WhatsApp fixes that.
The version 2.12.338 update, which just released, introduces a new "Star" feature". It works just like the star in your Gmail inbox, letting you mark a piece of text or image within a chat window, so that you can easily find it later. All you have to do is tap and hold on a chat and you'll see a star icon pop up in the toolbar above, right next to the copy button. Tap the star, and the symbols appears on the chat item you were selecting, next to the time stamp. If you want to remove the star, just repeat the process and hit the crossed-out star button.
The starred messages are accessible in a separate tab, from the app's menu button on the top right; there'll be a new "Starred messages" option between WhatsApp Web and Status. It shows you a scrollable list of starred messages, in chronological order, with the name of the contact you were chatting with. You can also remove stars from messages in this viewer.
It's important to note, this feature appeared in the latest version of WhatsApp for iOS a month ago. The update isn't yet official on the Google Play Store so, if you want it, you're going to need to download the APK from here.
