Gender disparity gave Sandra Bullock her worst career experienceLos Angeles, Nov 11(AZINS) Sandra Bullock is happy that Hollywood is being called out for the gender pay gap. In an interview to Variety the Gravity actress said that sexism she experienced on a movie set 10 years ago was the worst experience of career.

A lot of Hollywood celebs are speaking up against the gender disparity starting with Patricia Arquette, Meryl Streep to The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence who penned an open letter speaking about her experience.

Sandra Bullock says that the money is simply a byproduct of what they do. "Once we start shifting how we perceive women and stop thinking about them as “less than,” the pay disparity will take care of itself," she told the magazine.

On the red carpet, Bullock says she is asked about the dress she is wearing while her male co-stars are asked about the roles they essayed. Being raised as a trailblazer, Bullock always thought she was on a level playing field. But on the set of a movie, some 10 years ago, she found herself angry and frustrated when she realised the difference between the treatment given to her was because she is a woman.

Bullock wants to keep the conversation going until the problem is resolved. "But Hollywood has always been at the forefront of pioneering a new road and a new movement. So it’s a blessing that they got caught, and there are a lot of outspoken, narcissistic actors like myself who are very happy to talk about the issue and keep it alive," she told Variety.
