WWE News: Former superstar Mick Foley launches scathing attack on company, claims Steve Austin backs him

Dec 1(AZINS) Former WWE superstar and Hall of Fame inductee Mick Foley has launched a scathing attack on the present state of the professional wrestling company, reports the Independent.

The WWE is in the midst of a dramatic fall in TV ratings, but the phenomenon is not new. The company's TV ratings have been in slow decline since the end of the Attitude Era in the early 2000s.

Referencing this issue, Mick Foley, who was one of the company's biggest stars during the Attitude Era, said the lack of freedom to superstars and the absence of depth in storylines was a big reason for the company's problems. He says WWE Creative has been 'stinking for a while'.

Taking to Facebook to vent his frustrations, Foley wrote at length in a post titled "Final Raw for Foley?". The post was made before Monday night's WWE RAW show.

Foley calls the present WWE Creative 'completely out of touch', berates Vince McMahon for refusing to see that the old formulae aren't working, and laments the fact that the immense talent pool of the company is being ill-used - among other things.

The 'Final RAW for Foley' line was inspired by the fact that the hardcore legend has totally blasted WWE in his post.

Apparently, Mick Foley's latest anti-WWE rant was endorsed by none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin, whom he holds up as a model for any superstar who wishes to learn mic skills.

Foley also said that he would be discussing the issue on Steve Austin's podcast very soon.

Later, the hardcore legend, who became famous for being thrown off a 16-foot-high cell by the Undertaker, said he had enjoyed this week's Monday Night RAW and claimed it was an impact of his Facebook post.

Both Foley and Austin are contracted by WWE under a Legends contract, though they are not employees.
