Can this get any better? Movie makers confirm no Jar Jar Binks and Ewoks in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'Author : AZIndia News Desk
Dec 8(AZINS) The threat of Star Wars spoilers may be everywhere, but here's one bit of info that many fans may welcome: Jar Jar Binks will not be appearing in the upcoming film.
The controversial character who appeared in the first instalment of The Phantom Menace has no role in The Force Awakens, confirmed movie producers over the weekend.
When he was first introduced to audiences in 1999, Jar Jar Binks was poorly received, with many critics calling the computer-generated character a racial caricature resembling a bumbling Rastafarian.
At a press conference in Los Angeles, movie makers confirmed that the character -- widely known as one of the most unpopular in the Star Wars franchise -- has been kept out of the script, reports Comicbook.com.
Ditto for Ewoks.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theatres December 18.
