Aniston plays a devoted mother of a young soldier sent off to fight in Iraq, reported The Wrap. Joining Aniston, Jack Huston, Tye Sheridan, and Alden Ehrenreich in the film are newly announced cast members Toni Collette and Jason Patric.

Alexandre Moors is directing the adaptation of Kevin Powers' 2012 novel, which tells the story of two Army enlistees (Sheridan and Ehrenreich) who form a bond and vow to keep each other safe. But when the unspeakable happens, one struggles to deal with the repercussions. Collette will play the mother of a soldier, and Patric and Huston will play older officers.
