Xiaomi launches "Made in India" Redmi Note Prime for Rs 8,499Author : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Dec 15(AZINS) Xiaomi's long-touted "Make in india" effort is finally bearing fruits, as the company just announced their latest offering, the Redmi Note Prime. This is Xiaomi's second smartphone wholly manufactured in India by Foxconn, following the Redmi 2 Prime.
The Redmi Note Prime features a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410, coupled with a Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. It has a 5.5-inch HD IPS (1280x720) display at 267 ppi, with 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). The phone has a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera and a 5MP front cam, has 4G dual SIM support and is powered by a 3100mAh battery.
It's important to note however, though this is the Prime version, Xiaomi has opted for a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor, over the Redmi Note's original 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek MTK 6592. One the other hand, the internal storage has been doubled to 16GB, which was a huge pain point for avid gamers who owned the original.
Available on Amazon India and Mi.com starting today, the phone is priced at Rs 8,499.
