The 5 most anticipated Tamil films in 2016!Author : AZIndia News Desk
Kabali
This movie is possibly the most awaited one by Tamil cinema fans. Superstar Rajinikanth will be seen as a suave mafia boss in Pa Ranjith’s movie being shot in Malaysia and India. He is paired with Bollywood actor Radhika Apte while a Chinese actor will essay the lead villain. Apparently, they are thinking of actors like Jet Li, Simon Yam and Chow Yun Fat. It will be refreshing to see Rajinikanth play a man closer to his age and also a gangster at that! Santhosh Narayanan is the music director and one can definitely expect something different from him.
Thala 57
He is the King of the Box Office and his next film with Siruthai Siva is likely to be a cracker too. According to sources, Thala Ajith will start work on this film in May-June 2016 as he is recouping from surgery. The script is still being tweaked and with Vedhalam being a huge blockbuster, Siruthai Siva now needs to come up with something bigger. The lead actress for this project has not yet been signed on, but Anirudh will be doing the music once again.
Singam 3
This successful franchise from director Hari is already on the floors. Suriya will be seen in Singam 3 with Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan. The Singam series has been one of the best in Suriya’s career and each one gets better than the previous one. Harris Jayaraj is scoring the music for this flick which sees Suriya play a CID officer. This movie takes off from where Singam 2 ends.
Theri
Ilayathalapathy Vijay didn’t have a great 2015 with Puli being a disaster, but Theri could change all that. The actor plays a cop in this film and there’s speculation that he plays a double (maybe even triple) role in the film. Directed by Atlee, Vijay has Samantha and Amy Jackson as his co-stars. The movie has been shot in Chennai and Goa among other places and has music by GV Prakash.
Vada Chennai
Director Vetrimaaran spends a lot of time on his scripts and Vada Chennai, starring Dhanush and Samantha, will definitely be an interesting film from him. Vetrimaran and Dhanush have a good personal equation too (they produce films together) and this will add to the film. This movie will be shot in two parts and the music will be by Santhosh Narayan. After the national Award-winning Aadukalam from Vetrimaaran and Dhanush, this movie could be another feather in their cap.
