Over $20 million already for Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale!Jan 2(AZINS) Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale might have faced a lot of disappointment at the Indian box office. For many reasons. Firstly, the film was banned in many places across the country and secondly, the film received lukewarm response here in India. So much that Bajirao Mastani triumphed over Dilwale in the Indian circuit. But it’s difficult to beat SRK overseas.

Given the star power he commands in the overseas markets, it was expected that Dilwale will rake in huge numbers from abroad. And it did. The film has already lapped over $20 million overseas and has become the fourth Bollywood film to do so in two weeks flat, after PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dhoom 3.

Despite having underperformed in the US-Australia belts, the film managed to put up a huge total already. It earned over $3 million from UK, whereas in the USA-Canada region, it raked in around $4.5 million. In the Gulf circuit, it was unputdownable as it brought over $7 million alone from the area, thereby becoming the second highest grossing Hindi film ever. The film had a record breaking run in Malaysia ($825,000) and overall, it has summed up a total amount of $20.5 million, which is huge.

So, even if the BM storm hit Dilwale in the domestic arena, the SRK-Kajol starrer is way ahead in the worldwide box office battle and is expected to finish with greater returns post its lifetime business.
