Watch stunning footage of the SpaceX Falcon 9 in actionMumbai, Jan 13(AZINS) The commercial space race between two of the richest people in the world has led to some exciting breakthroughs in the field. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and SpaceX founder Elon Musk have been all but trolling each other's Twitter accounts for a while now, but the real news is that Elon Musk’s SpaceX team managed to launch their Falcon 9 rocket into space and land it safely back on Earth.

As they have been doing in the past they uploaded a video of the event on YouTube. The Falcon 9 was launched on 21 December and delivered 11 satellites to low-Earth orbit before making it back to land safely on terra firma. The video includes perspectives of the event from multiple camera angles, including the obviously elated reaction of the SpaceX team in Hawthorne, California.

These missions are especially important; in the past it was possible to build rockets for only single-use launch. These increasingly successful reusable rocket examples indicate the possibility of commercial space travel in the foreseeable future. Let's just hope that this spirited competition--along with other future entrants--leads to many more breakthroughs.
