Google's next I/O event is outdoor, in the neighbourhood where it all startedAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Jan 13(AZINS) Google CEO Sundar Pichai has tweeted the dates of their next annual conference--Google I/O 2016. Slated to happen between 18-20 May, their flagship event will be held at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in their hometown Mountain View.
With the event generally conducted at San Francisco’s Moscone Center that has a capacity of about 6,000, the announcement of this year’s venue is significant given its orders-of-magnitude larger 22,000 person capability.
Also the fact that the conference is being centered around an open-air amphitheater sets serious speculation around a host of possible launches and demonstrations that make the most of a big sky and plenty of space. This could include everything from their Project Wing delivery drones demos to their Internet balloon on the sky Project Loon.
With this being one of the preeminent technology events on the calendar (along with Apple’s yearly Worldwide Developers Conference,) Google has over the past few years used a lottery system for their ticket sales, given that they get snapped up so quickly even with the tickets priced at $900 for general admission at $300 for academics.
Stay tuned as we bring you more details on specifics as they become available.
