Mumbai, Jan 14(AZINS) On 12 January, the Paris based company officially announced that the most used media player, VLC is now be available on Apple TV.
VLC allows Apple TV users to play all files and video streams in their native format without the need for conversion.
Holding true to form, VideoLan Organization said, "VLC plays everything and runs everywhere", if you've ever owned an Apple product you'll know how frustrating and inconvenient it can get when you want to play a certain video on your device, long-story-short you have to go through a extra steps of converting the video into a format that an Apple device can recognize.
VLC not only allows Apple TV users to play their favorite file formats as-they-are but users will also be able to play files from Windows shares (SMB), UPnP, FTP and Plex servers.
VLC will also be able to download subtitles and artwork automatically. If that's not cool enough, then there is also a feature called “Remote Playback” which allows users to cast media stored on other computers to their TV using a web browser.
VideoLAN also announce that they have future plans to integrate cloud services like Dropbox, OneDrive and Box.
Through the grape wine, we heard that the company will also unveil VLC 3.0 for desktop computers in the near future.
