Watch out for this link if you want to stop iPhones and iPads from crashingMumbai, Jan 26(AZINS) Internet trolls have come up with a new way to annoy unsuspecting users. They are passing around a link disguised with URL shorteners to 'crashsafari.com'. This website crashes iPhones and iPads the moment you click on it.

The website uses a javascript code to overload the browsers address bar with an infinite series of numbers. It exploits the browser history, creates numerous history entries and kills them on command, reports Wired.com

According to Wired, Matthew Bryant, working in application security in San Francisco, created the odd code to test how the browsers will handle them. He claims that the code was created as a joke.

Safari users, especially on iPhones and iPads, are affected the most as their machines go for an immediate partial reboot when the link is accessed. For desktop users, there is no rebooting but you will have to waste some time staring at the loading pinwheel.

Chrome users do not face operating system crash but they do lose precious time as the browser restarts.

According to the experts, there is no harm associated with the link as it does not run any commands on the machines. Safari users might experience multiple crashes as the browser reboots and tries to go to the same URL. In such case, put your phone in airplane mode and it will stop the cycle.
