Flipkart announces their “Big Exchange Days” program, but here's the catchMumbai, Feb 1(AZINS) Flipkart announced that their “Big Exchange Days” program, that allows customers to exchange their old appliances for smartphones, tablets, laptops and televisions will now include large appliances like refrigerators and washing machines. The program will purportedly be held on the 1st and 2nd of every month.

Customers who opt for the program can upgrade their existing smartphones, laptops, tablets and large appliances for an exchange offer starting from Rs 4,000 upto Rs 20,000.

“The average cycle in India for replacing a phone is 18-24 months and we are witnessing similar trends in the television category. The Flipkart Exchange Programme offers customers a holistic solution to the whole process of looking for buyers of their old products and buy new products.” Said chief business officer of Flipkart, Ankit Nagori.

Ms Nagori added, “With ‘Big Exchange Days’, we will help customers upgrade to their latest favourites in a quick and convenient way. We foresee this programme to be a big hit amongst our customers and expect it to drive 20% of the sales in these categories by the end of this year.”

The company will provide doorstep exchange or upgrade with a catch--customers may have to wait until their old device is verified which may take upto 20 days. The IMEI number, screen and condition of the smartphones will be checked before the new device is handed over while televisions will be mounted before being evaluated. Other devices like washing machines and laptops, the delivery person will switch the old device on to check if it's in working condition.
