Microsoft apps will now be preloaded on Android devices from 74 manufacturersAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Feb 12(AZINS) Microsoft, in a blog post last night, announced that its apps are going to be featured on Android devices from 74 companies this year.
Microsoft had made deals with 31 OEMs last year, wherein their apps like Word, Powerpoint, and Excel would come preloaded on their devices. That number has gone up this time around to 74 Android manufactures, included the recent additions of Acer, Asus, LG, Samsung, and Sony.
This means that, if you buy a smartphone or tablet from one of the manufacturers on the list, like it or not, you're going to have a plethora of preloaded Microsoft apps, including the Office Suite, OneDrive, and Skype. Of course, Microsoft has realised that, despite the potential that their Lumia series offers, people (and developers) just aren't biting. As a result, the company is diversify across platforms, in order to get its software products in front of users. Hopefully this doesn't backfire, as preloaded Microsoft apps, despite how useful and efficient they might be, are essentially bloatware on a brand new phone. Ones that users will have to take the time to sit down and individually delete if they so choose; and that's the best way to tick off a customer.
