Mumbai, Feb 13(AZINS) Martin Scorsese and Mick Jagger have teamed up with HBO to bring you Vinyl, a record label drama set in 1970s New York. The series revolves around Bobby Cannavale's Richie Finestra, a record label owner and the central character of the show.
1970's New York saw Rock n Roll at its peak. Punk, hip-hop, and disco genre were just breaking out and there was no other place on earth more thriving and enticing for someone who wanted to do anything and everything that is music.
Mick Jagger and Rolling Stones were at that peak sharing it with legends like Andy Warhol, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and many more. Recalling the era, Jagger said that New York in the smack-middle of all that beautiful chaos was a place for great art, music, culture on one side and on the other it was not a very good place to live, in utter bad shape financially, and difficult for a single musician!
To describe how it was to work closely with Andy Warhol, the legend and the most celebrated artist of the modern era, Mick Jagger has only one word - FASCINATING!
Bobby Cannavale's Finestra will find himself trying to save his record label and his soul without destroying everyone in his path. Tough rope walk! In this journey, he will have the company of Olivia Wilde as his wife Devon Finestra. Ray Romano, Ato Essandoh, Max Casella, PJ Byrne, JC MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Juno Temple, Jack Quaid, James Jagger and Paul Ben-Victor will make up the rest of the cast.
Vinyl season 1 debuts on Wednesday, February 17, at 10 pm on Star World Premiere HD.
