Chris Martin's like my brother, says ex-wife Gwyneth PaltrowMar 5(AZINS) Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow says her ex-husband musician Chris Martin is like a brother and they and their children are a "true family". Martin and Paltrow split in 2014 after almost 10 years of marriage but have remained close for the sake of their kids, Apple, 11 and nine-year-old Moses and the 43-year-old actress said they are now more like siblings.

Speaking about Martin, 39, Paltrow said on the Today Show, "He's like my brother. I'm really close to him. We're a family. Even though we're not in a romantic relationship, we're a true family and we like to do things to reinforce that we're a family for the children [and] for each other. [The split] was a very intense time for our family. Emotions were very high and deep and all over the place. I just try to keep to myself as much as possible." Her comment came after it was revealed Martin was yet to respond to Paltrow's divorce petition.

According to legal documents, the Coldplay frontman failed to respond to Paltrow's separation papers which could lead to her being eligible for a default judgement, meaning the actress would be granted what she has asked for in her petition with Martin, 38, having no right to a counter claim.

Meanwhile, the entire family cheered Martin on when he performed with Coldplay during the half-time show at Super Bowl 50 last month but Paltrow admitted she worries about keeping the kids grounded when they have such incredible experiences. "They were thrilled. They were very proud. It's pretty incredible. It's also a little weird that your first football game is that, so how do you also counteract that and instill that life is not that all the time?"

The actress also revealed that she is taking a break from acting to focus on her lifestyle company, GOOP. During the interview with Matt Lauer, Paltrow said she wants to dedicate more time to the company. "We took some investment last year, so as soon as we had other people's money, I realised I really better focus on this completely. 'I'll return to acting probably, but probably not right now,' she said. The star launched her company in 2008.
