Microsoft testing app to unlock Windows 10 PCs over BluetoothAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Mar 10(AZINS) Tech giant Microsoft is reportedly testing an a new Authenticator app for Windows 10, that will let users unlock their PC over Bluetooth.
Twitter user WalkingCat spotted the app on the Windows Store called "Phone Sign-in Beta". From what we can tell, it allows users to sync a Windows 10 PC to their phone and then, when nearby and paired over a Bluetooth connection, lets them simply tap on a PC's name to unlock it.
Microsoft has been trying to bring new ways to secure and unlock Windows 10 PCs, including introducing fingerprint reader and camera support for Windows Hello. However, the app in question is listed as for "internal testing purposes only", and is currently limited to smartphones running Windows 10 Mobile. That particular restriction to a single is likely to remain as well, once the app is officially launched.
