Mumbai, Mar 10(AZINS) ISRO has today launched their sixth navigational satellite into orbit. The PSLV-C32 rocket successfully launched at 4:01 pm today from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) in Sriharikkota, putting the IRNSS-1F satellite into orbit.
After a 54-hour-long countdown that began on Tuesday, the launch time was revised from the initial 4 pm to a minute later in order to avoid collision with space debris. The satellite is the sixth of its kind in orbit for India, as part of the Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS) Mission. The last one was launched earlier in January this year. The seventh and final satellite, IRNSS-1G, is expected to launch by the end of March 2016.
