Zayn Malik's new album features an Urdu songAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mar 25(AZINS) British-Pakistani singer Zayn Malik's much-anticipated new solo album Mind of Mine will feature a song in Urdu, titled 'Flower'. Urdu is the native tongue of the 23-year-old singer's father.
According to a review in The New York Times, the song is 104-seconds long and appears in the middle of the former One Direction member's debut. It features "gentle folk-influenced guitar" over which Malik sings "with deeply centered but controlled fervor", reported NME magazine.
The lyrics to the track are: "Jab tak is mohabbat ke phool na khilay / Tab tak is dill ko sukoon na miley" (Until the flower of this love has blossomed/This heart won't be at peace).
Malik has previously revealed that he speaks Urdu, his father's native tongue. After winning the award for outstanding achievement in music at the Asian Awards last year, he thanked his parents "for making me Asian, and for allowing me to have some sort of effect on the Asian community."
