Robert De Niro's 'Dirty Grandpa' gets a nationwide banAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Apr 17(AZINS) The Central Board Of Film Certification (CBFC) has put a nationwide ban on the latest Robert De Niro-starrer Dirty Grandpa directed by Dan Mazer.
The film, originally released this January in the US, features De Niro as a sexually overactive grandfather and American heartthrob Zac Efron as his grandson. The two take a trip together. During the trip, De Niro is shown to indulge in sexual activities.
Critics abroad have unequivocally panned the film. Some even went as far as calling it the worst film in De Niro’s career. In fact, review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, has given it a 10% rating.
It is heard that the film didn’t even have a press screening in the US.
A source from the CBFC says, “We’ve placed a ban on Dirty Grandpa because this grandpa is dirtier than any 70-year-old man. In fact, De Niro in this film makes Rishi Kapoor in Kapoor & Sons look like a saint. We wonder why an actor of De Niro’s caliber did such a sleazy film.”
