Chord Mojo, a studio-grade headphone amp and high-res audio processor, launches in IndiaAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Mumbai, Apr 19(AZINS) Chord Electronics has launched Mojo, a British-built headphone amplifier and DAC in India. The Mojo enables smartphones and connected devices to deliver recording-studio sound quality to any headphone.
The Mojo, a product of Chord Electronics Ltd, uses an Artix-7 chipset from Silicon Valley’s Xilinx--a proprietary digital signal processor that can process high-resolution digital input streams ranging from DSD 64 (64 times the sampling rate of an audio CD, also known as the SACD standard) all the way to DSD 256 with sampling rates as high as 768KHz/32-bit over the micro USB or RCA connectors.
The device connects digitally to smartphones and other audio playback devices via a micro USB, optical or a 3.5mm coaxial input, where input selection is fully automatic and prioritized in the case of multiple connections.
The unit utilizes a new high-temperature battery technology that purportedly enables the devices to charge up to 20 percent quicker than other similar devices, where it requires four hours to reach full charge, followed by up to 10 hours of continuous playback.
Its case is crafted from solid aircraft-grade aluminium and has just three buttons that make for easy operation. The buttons cycle through a range of colors that indicate the frequency of the audio file playback, from CD-quality (44.1kHz, red), 48kHz (orange) and so on, up through a range of colours to bright white for DSD.
The Chord Mojo is available at Headphonezone.in and is priced at Rs 39,990.
