Game of Thrones: Everything you’ve known is wrong, says Liam CunninghamMay 17(AZINS) Game of Thrones has earned a reputation for its top-billing-can’t-keep-you-safe unpredictability. Every season of the series has managed to surprise the fans and the season 6 takes unpredictability a notch higher as it delves further into the unknown territory with George R.R. Martin’s The Winds of Winter yet to be published.

Liam Cunningham who plays the character of Ser Davos Seaworth, the man who served his hand for Stannis Baratheon, recently came to the limelight, for playing a significant catalyst that helps in the resurrection of Jon Snow.

While many had guessed that it would be The Red Woman who brings Jon Snow back to life but it would be on insistence of Ser Davos, came as a surprise.

When he was asked about how the unpredictability helps strengthen the show, he said, “It’s done for the purposes of drama, for the purposes of whatever you think this is, it’s not. Remember the quote from a few seasons back – I think it was from Tyrion: “If you think this is going to have a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.” And I think in a weird way it’s almost the credo of the show. There is unpredictability to it. It’s very much like life. I think that’s one of the reasons audiences like it, it’s because it’s not sewn up. You’re not being put on the sofa and told you’ll be safe here, the good guy’s going to do well, and the girl’s going to be saved.”

On being asked on how the actors react to the volatile content, he says, “It’s a great thing for an actor to be presented with something they didn’t see coming, to be presented with one thing that’s been in your head that you’re sure of and that you hang your hat on as an actor, as in belief. My belief in Stannis; Melisandre’s in the Lord of Light and all that, and it’s pulled away from under you. It’s a great thing for an audience to look at too because everything you’ve known is wrong.”

Game of Thrones airs on Star World Premiere HD every Tuesday at 10:00 PM.
