Even though broadband speed tests like Ookla’s speedtest have been around for a while now, this is the first time a developer gives you the option to peek at your actually download speed. With Fast, you can also compare tests against Ookla’s results.

Fast uses Netflix for a series of downloads and then checks how much your Internet connection can handle. The new tool works on desktops and smartphones and does not require you to log into Netflix to work.
