Pebble 2, Pebble Time 2, and Pebble Core successfully crowdfunded on KickstarterMay 26(AZINS) Like the first Pebble smartwatch, the latest line of Pebble wearables has been launched via the crowdfunding website, Kickstarter. The range includes two new watches -- the Pebble 2 and Pebble Time 2 -- along with the Pebble Core mini wearable. It's no surprise to see that the funding goals for all the new arrivals have already been smashed.

The Pebble 2 smartwatch and fitness tracker is a little slimmer than the previous model and comes with a 168x144-p black-and-white screen with a scratch-resistant finish. It has several built-in sensors for tracking activity (number of steps, heart rate, etc.), as well as monitoring sleep. The Pebble 2 is also waterproof to 30 meters and has a built-in microphone for recording voice memos. It comes in five different colors and promises seven-day battery life. The Pebble 2 is up for pre-order for US $99 and is expected to ship in September.

The Pebble Time 2 is a slightly higher-end model with a larger and higher-resolution (228x200p) color display. It also promises 10 days of battery life. The Pebble Time 2 comes in three colors (gold, silver, black) and is priced from US $169, with shipping set to start in November.

As well as these two smartwatches, Pebble has developed a highly compact wearable module that connects to a smartwatch over 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi, offering access to applications such as Spotify. The Pebble Core is an Android-based mini-computer with an onboard GPS, 4GB of storage, an audio jack, plus WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. The device is designed as a smartwatch add-on that can replace a smartphone when out and about. It can, for example, be used to stream music from various apps while out running. It's available to order via Kickstarter priced from US $69, with shipping due to start in January 2017.
