June17(AZINS) Fourth season of Orange is the New Black (OITNB) debuts globally on Friday. You can go for a binge-watching spree on the streaming service platform Netflix.
Showrunner Jenji Kohan has brought Orange is the New Black, a comedic drama set in a women’s prison. The series is based on the popular memoir of the same name by Piper Kerman.
The series stars Taylor Schilling as Piper Chapman, an engaged Brooklynite whose decade-old relationship with international drug-runner Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) results in her arrest and year-long detention in federal prison. To pay her debt to society, Piper must trade her comfortable New York life with fiancé Larry (Jason Biggs) for an orange prison jumpsuit and a strange new world of everyday indignities that forces her to question everything she knows. As she serves her time, she forms unlikely new alliances with an eccentric and outspoken group of inmates.
Season four delves into the racial and economic tensions that run rampant in the halls of Litchfield. Overrun with new inmates and overseen by inexperienced guards, the prison undergoes an unprecedented culture war.
Last we saw the inmates of Litchfield having an unexpected day away from the cells in the nearby lake. There are new additions in the for-profit penitentiary. This Overpopulated prison means shoulders being rubbed off in every way imaginable. For viewers, it means more drama, more binging.
As one of its most well-loved original series, Netflix found more than half (53%)* of Orange viewers globally have re-watched at least one full season of the series since its release in 2013.
