Mariah Carey's proposed pre-nuptial agreement revealedAuthor : AZIndia News Desk
Los Angeles, Nov 5 (AZINS) Singer Mariah Carey's pre-nuptial agreement with James Packer included strict conditions relating to clothing allowances, the use of private jets and the ownership of presents, it has been revealed.
The "Hero" hitmaker, who recently split from the Australian billionaire, reportedly rejected the "tacky and insulting" pre-nuptial agreement drawn up by her then-fiance's legal team, reports tmz.com.
One condition on the document read: "Except for gifts between them for their engagement, wedding or on birthdays and anniversaries, no item of jewellery and-or personal adornment costing over $250,000 will be deemed a gift unless accompanied by, or promptly followed by, a writing specifically stating 'This is my gift to you'."
Packer also refused to foot the bill for Carey's stage costumes or clothes for five-year-old Moroccan and Monroe, the twins she has with ex-husband Nick Cannon.
With a blank space left for a maximum amount to agree on, it states: "The clothing is not to be used for business or performing" and "Mariah shall provide all clothing for her children".
The document also states: "James shall cause a credit card(s) to be issued for use by Mariah and staff... the amount of expenses... shall not exceed US $____ per calendar month."
The space for the figure of the amount is left blank, tmz.com reported.
While Packer agreed to provide the 46-year-old singer with a "private aircraft", Carey would have been allowed to use it only when her partner felt it was "appropriate".
"James shall provide the use of one private aircraft, of his selection, for Mariah's personal use, or that of her children and nannies only when James, in his sole discretion, determines it is appropriate to do so," the document read.
Carey and Packer's engagement was called off last month.
